Mission Statement
Confidence Theatrics provides consulting resources and training to help those people who are part of historically excluded communities, specifically Black, Indigenous, and People of color, by way of access. Our services will help our clients build and cultivate confidence in the theater arts. Our consultation services also extend to theater companies that are looking to restructure their systems to become more inclusive and diverse, from the boardroom to their performance spaces.
Confidence Performance is the professional performance arm of Confidence Theatrics. Bringing to you small known, unknown and new works that feature marginalized stories, talent and playwrights..

Confidence Theatrics is committed to rooting out oppressive practices and reimagine the theatrical canons that have resulted in inequalities and harm towards would-be theatre makers. We are open to people from all walks of life, backgrounds, races, nationalities, financial status and communities. We are here to make sure all people are able to join, learn and build confidence.
Our Journey
Confidence Theatrics, built out of the request to put our 20 plus years of theatrical experience to work to assist companies and individuals with pursuing their theatrical adventures. From coaching one on one to board and company coaching. Training and production assistance on an individual and company level. We are here to unmask that next potential one show at a time.
Rikki
(Founder/Diversity Lead)
Rikki Howie Lacewell is a DMV-based dancer, singer, choreographer, director, consultant and diversity advocate who specializes in musical and dramatic theater. Raised in the small rural town of Elizabethtown, North Carolina, she grew up singing in the choir and performing for friends and family at school events and talent shows.
Today, Rikki in her spare time works on various theater projects from directing, choreographing, producing, performing and consulting friends as they venture into the world of theater.
Taurean
(Accounting)
Taurean Barber is a New York City-based performer, teaching artist, and choreographer. He has taught Broadway Jazz dance at the Ailey Extension for Adults & Teens. He has performed regionally and toured both domestically and internationally. A few of his favorite credits include Disney’s Beauty & the Beast, Bring It On: The Musical, Mamma Mia, and Dreamgirls.
Taurean has performed with Dissonance Dance Theater, Dance Lab New York (formerly Broadway Dance Lab), Breton Follies, and is a current member of Jazz Roots Dance Company.

We are a group of diverse theater professionals who have been on and behind the stage on various levels local and worldwide. We are committed to delivering quality coaching, consulting and programming that benefits the theater community as a whole on all levels.
